This part resolves the charging problem of a  3G or new 3G/S iPhone, new iPOD Touch 2nd Generation, iPOD Classic or 5th Generation Nano-Chromatic, when it is hooked up to your existing iPod interface. 

The CC-iPD converts 12V firewire charging on existing iPOD interfaces and accessories to 5V USB charging, which is now the charging requirements of the new iPODs as well as the 3G and new 3G/S iPhone
